A couple of weeks ago, I hosted a Noonday Collection Trunk Show at our house. Noonday had been on my radar for quite awhile as I still try to seek out fair trade and handmade gifts as often as possible. My friend, Jennifer, had invited me to a trunk show at her home at the end of October and I was really impressed by the quality and beauty of the products so wanted to introduce some of my friends to Noonday as well.

It is always fun to host an evening like this when you believe in the mission and the products because it isn’t quite as awkward inviting people.  Let’s face it – not everyone wants the pressure of purchasing things at a friend’s house! But, the beautiful products and the mission of Noonday just really speak for itself so I didn’t feel weird about people feeling like they had to come. I really resonate with their mission:

Noonday Collection is a SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS that uses fashionTO CREATE MEANINGFUL OPPORTUNITIES AROUND THE WORLD.

I enjoyed putting together a few new recipes for the evening. I have typically overdone the selection of foods for things like this in the past, so this time, I chose two cake recipes (Lemon Cake and Red Wine Chocolate Cake) from Smitten Kitchen. I enjoyed having two dessert stars instead of doing a bunch of smaller things. I also served Cauliflower Feta Fritters (also Smitten Kitchen), some roasted delicata squash and a selection of cheeses with crackers and fruit. Of course, wine and coffee too!

I cannot reveal the gifts that I purchased as I don’t want to ruin the surprise of any ladies in my family who might be reading…but, a major bonus of hosting the trunk show was the perks. I got product credit that I could use on the things I wanted to purchase (thanks to my friends purchasing things, I was able to buy multiple gifts for free!) and my mom had offered to buy me a couple of things from Noonday for Christmas, so I chose this gorgeous Brushfire Infinity Scarf and used my 50% off a product perk towards a beautiful wrap. It isn’t on the site anymore, but you can see it on the Noonday blog – Hermosa Wrap.

Thanks to the amazing Megan Johnson for snapping a few pics. She has taken most of my absolute favorite pictures of Little Man and has recently even taken family photos for some of our friends too. Check her out at Megs Colleen.

You can still shop for holiday gifts from the Noonday Collection. I noticed they have some great sales right now!
